Short animation piece created using traditional animation techniques. The process involved sculpting a woman and a mirror, then hand-drawing each frame of the different scenes. Finally, all the elements were brought together through stop-motion animation to create a dreamlike world that poetically reflects the reality of the woman's life.
The story centers around a woman who looks into a mirror and does not recognize herself. She has never appreciated or loved herself, and as a result, she is not even visible in the mirror. The animation aims to evoke a sense of wonder and mystery, taking the viewer on a journey through the woman's psyche as she confronts her own identity.
The use of traditional animation methods gives the piece a unique, handmade feel, while the dreamlike quality of the visuals and the haunting soundtrack add to the overall atmosphere of the work. Through its poetic narrative and stunning visuals, "En el Espejo" invites viewers to reflect on the importance of self-love and acceptance in our lives.
